To know a place and its culture is to get acquainted with its gastronomy. This special sailing trip combines all that we love. Sailing, sea, sun and culinary surprises!
Leave the touristic crowds behind and set sail with us! During our journey, the culinary professionals on board will share with you all the secrets and gems of the Mediterranean diet.
The destination of our sailing trip is chosen carefully to ensure calm weather conditions and beautiful waters. This exotic experience combines the beauty of nature, swimming in crystal clear waters and leaving all weights behind before indulging yourself in what our chefs have to offer.
Some mouth-watering goodness is waiting for you onboard! Local specialities and delicacies from the island of Crete, an exploration of new tastes. The recipes you will try onboard are traditional with a modern twist, carefully picked to cover the main cuisine and gastronomy of the area.
And if you want to prepare your palette here is what follows:
– Welcome: Cretan Raki, variety of local cheese from small farms, home made bread, and paximadi (rusks), Cretan olives and of course Olive-oil tasting.
– Main: Grilled sea bass with rosemary/ sepia in the stove with ink/ squid risotto
-Dessert Drink: Dessert wine from sun-dried grapes.
(Menu is a subject of change depending on the seasonal availability).
Choose your sailboat:
As soon as the guests arrive on the yachts in Heraklio Old Venetian port, a small briefing concerning safety regulations as well as boat handling will be given by the instructor/skipper on the yacht.
We set sails for the nearby island of Dia. (around 6 miles ~1 hrs).
Our experienced crew will help our guest feel comfortable while sailing (not motoring). Enjoy silence, while the yacht moves only by
sails.
Your skipper is a certified sailing instructor and will guide you thorough some secrets of.
Everybody is welcome to participate, if would like to.
A brief introduction follows:
- Cretan Raki, variety of local cheese, home made bread, and paximadi (dry bread), olives. Olive-oil tasting.
- Appetizer: Cretan “dakos”, “boureki” (a type of pastry filled with eggplant and feta cheese), fava beans, octopus, mussels in steam.
- First dish: Pasta (spagghetti or risotto with seafood and roe (bottarga).
- Main: Grilled sea bass with rosemary.
- Wine: Three different high quality wines that perfectly accompanying our menu.
- Dessert: Home made jams, pies with honey, fresh figs, seasonal fruits
- Dessert Drink: Dessert wine from sun-dried grapes.
